DEMOCRACY FOR AMERICA + HOWARD DEAN

In the Spring of 2004, Howard Dean began the process of transforming his revolutionary grassroots organization (Dean for America), into a political action committee named Democracy for America.

To be successful, the new organization would need to move beyond the former Presidential candidate. To reflect this change in emphasis, the graphic identity of the organization (and highly successful blog), needed to evolve without alienating the millions of supporters who would continue to participate in the expanded mission. A then nascent political web design firm, Blue State Digital, tapped Melanie Goux to design all elements of the new identity.

Concurrent with the launch of Democracy for America, Howard Dean embarked on a campaign to become his party’s Chairman. Goux designed and oversaw the production of all graphic elements for web, print and video relating to his successful DNC Chair bid.
